Services

E-Billing Feature allows you to pay your
bill or to view your billing history online. Please click on the
"E-Billing Features" on the menu above to access this service.
Auto Bank Draft allows you to receive your monthly bill as usual, but you
don't have to write a check each month. We will automatically deduct
the amount shown on your bill the 21st of each month, from either your
checking or your savings account. This allows you to pay the day
before you are delinquent, so you hold on to your money as long as
possible. Should there ever be a question about your bill, you just
call us, and we will get it settled before we deduct from your
checking or savings account.
Levelized Billing (or
Equal Billing) allows you to pay the same
amount each month, based on your history from the preceding 12 months.
If your bills are higher during the summer and lower during the
winter, we will average them for you and you can "true up" at the end
of the year. The advantage to this method of payment is that your
monthly bill remains the same for the year. It helps those of us who
are on a budget (and who isn't!)
Credit Card Payments: Conveniently pay your bill by phone, or online through
electronic billing, using Visa, Master Card, Discover or American
Express. (To request e-billing, and receive your own personal id.
number, call RGEC at 1-800-749-1509, or click on "e-billing features"
at the top of this page, then e-mail by clicking the "contact" button.
It's quick and easy!)
In-House Electrician are just a phone call away. Just call your local area office
and make arrangements for an electrician to come to your home and for
an introductory time only, free estimates are available. If you decide
to have the work done, you will be billed at a rate of $21 an hour for
an electrician and $12.50 per hour for an apprentice. All materials
will be sold to you at our cost. If your account is current, we will
even send you a bill. That means you won't have to pay for the work
that day. Why would we do this? Well, we listen to your needs. You
told us that it was difficult to find qualified electrician, and we
heard you. We want you to be happy. (Remember: you own the business.)
Notary services are available at each of the area offices at no cost to you.
Copiers are available at each of the offices for your personal use.
Please don't abuse this free service. We make this available to you,
but ask that you limit your copies to no more than 15 a month.
You may receive or send
faxes (facsimiles) at each area office for a
nominal fee. The first three pages cost $3, and each subsequent page
may be sent or received for 25 cents.
Security Lights are an option that you may request for $8.95 each month.
This will pay for a 175-watt light.
Pre-Paid
Meters These new meters are
standard issue for hunting camps in the Brackettville operating area,
and are available by request in any of the Co-op’s other operating
areas. They keep landowners/landlords from being stuck with the bill
when the hunters/tenants move out. The way the pre-paid meters work is
much like any other Co-op account. The standard $5.00 membership plus
a $20 trip fee for connection applies. The hunter/tenant purchases a
voucher containing special code numbers at the Co-op office. Once at
the site, they input the code numbers into the meter. It’s simple. The
meters warn in advance when power levels are getting low, and the
tenant can call the Co-op to purchase more kilowatt hours using their
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover credit card. A new
voucher number is given over the telephone at the time the credit card
payment is received. If interested, call the Co-op. We’ll be glad to
explain all the benefits and features.
Turtle Meters Turtle meters eliminate the need for reading
your meter. They automatically take their own readings and report them
to the Co-op. Eventually, these new meters will be placed throughout
RGEC’s territory, but if you just can’t wait, you can purchase your
own for only $95.00. (That’s about what you would pay if the Co-op had
to read your meter 3 times because you forgot to!) Call the Co-op for
more info.
