ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
Job Knowledge, Training and
Experience: Certificate in Electronics or
a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous related utility experience preferred. Must be familiar with
special equipment utilized in distribution cooperative and transmission
systems such as reclosers, regulators, capacitors, and other equipment.
Must have operating knowledge of various types of test equipment such as
multimeters and oscilloscopes. Working knowledge of electronic control
equipment is preferred. Must be or become certified in first aid and
cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Abilities and Skills: Some heavy lifting may be required. Must be able to
complete inspections, installations and repairs of equipment at various
heights. Must possess good interpersonal skills including the ability to
maintain a harmonious relationship with all Cooperative personnel and
the members. Must possess oral and written communications skills in the
English language. Must be able to maintain confidential information.
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and be insurable with the
Cooperative’s insurance carrier.
Working Conditions: Must be able to work under adverse weather conditions such
as extreme heat and cold, high winds or stormy conditions. Non-exempt
position. To ensure all employees are provided with drug free and
alcohol free working conditions, pre-employment, post accident,
reasonable cause and random drug and alcohol tests are conducted on all
employees.
